Digitalization of Quality Infrastructure

Section S.2

Section Digitalization of Quality Infrastructure coordinates and promotes stakeholder dialogue in selected areas of the German Quality Infrastructure (QI), especially accreditation and conformity assessment. One focus here is on the digital transformation of QI, which is an essential prerequisite for the sustainable success of the German economy and the achievement of climate protection goals. Targeted research work creates the data basis for new scientific findings on trends, influencing factors, and effects in conformity assessment and accreditation. This allows to inform political decision-makers, industry, and the public in a professional manner through evidence-based argumentation.

  • For our economic research work and studies on selected QI issues within the framework of our QI-FoKuS initiative, we cooperate with research institutions and leading institutions of German and international QI. The current focus is on digital transformation and the associated development and use of innovative technologies in conformity assessment.
  • For the QI-Digital initiative, in which solutions for the digital transformation of QI are developed with the central players of German QI, we coordinate the exchange and networking with interested parties and the transfer into application.
  • Based on the Accreditation Body Act (AkkStelleG law), we manage the office of the Accreditation Advisory Board GS-AKB. In doing so, our interdisciplinary team supports the Accreditation Advisory Board and its technical advisory boards both administratively and technically and coordinates the involvement of interested parties in the rule-making process of accreditation.
