The joint project MaterialDigital aims to develop a digital infrastructure for research data for the entire materials community in industry and science in order to systematise and standardise the handling of materials data.

MaterialDigital is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. In addition to BAM, the Fraunhofer Institute for Mechanics of Materials IWM, the Helmholtz Association (represented by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology KIT), the Leibniz IWT and the Max Planck Institut für Eisenforschung are involved. Other associated partners are FIZ Karlsruhe and Fraunhofer AISEC.

BAM is currently contributing to four scientific projects:

BAM is a senior scientific and technical Federal institute with responsibility
to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
