Description
Bridges that are potentially at risk of hydrogen induced stress corrosion cracking must be better assessed and monitored on a case-by-case basis. The ReSKoMB project is testing practical methods such as prestressing steel removal, monitoring, modelling and structural testing with image-based support from drones as an overall concept.

Messarbeiten in einer Betonbrücke
Germany’s bridge infrastructure has major challenges as aging prestressed concrete structures show increasing degradation. Current application of operation and maintenance (O&M) actions reach their limits. The project advances modern monitoring and reliability‑based assessment tools—combining acoustic emission, drone imaging, and corrosion/ fatigue models—to enable continuous condition evaluation and tailored strategies to extend service life.
