Description

BAM is participating in the SONRISA joint project with its own sub-project, the overarching goal of which is to establish a sensor-based multimodal digital quality assessment for additively manufactured metal components.

Location

Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM)
Unter den Eichen 87
12205 Berlin

The aim of the project is to establish process-accompanying digital verification of process stability and quality of AM components for powder bed-based laser beam melting (PBF-LB/M). Thereby, the current lack of a linked and consistent data chain with standardizable data formats and interoperable exchange formats in the PBF-LB/M process chain is to overcome. This eventually reduces efforts required for post-process non-destructive testing.

BAM is a senior scientific and technical Federal institute with responsibility
to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
